The Victorian homestead was built in 1895; restoration started in the late 1990’s and its transformation continues to this present day.
Upon entering the generous reception area, you are immediately enfolded in the ambience of yester-year with high stud, floor rugs, floor to ceiling drapes and impressive staircase.
The guest house offers "Bed and Breakfast" accomodation within its own guest bedroom wing. Each of the eight bedrooms has a handbasin and they are furnished in an elegant period style. Some of the bedrooms lead through french windows to a large verandah, with seating facilities and a view that looks over the gardens to the Whanganui river. Other bedrooms look out to the gardens that surround the property.
A gracious drawing room with piano, library and television is a delight to sit in, absorb the ambience and breathe in the quiet relaxing peace.
Adjoining the drawing room, is the character filled dining room. It is from here that guests are served both cooked and continental breakfast with lashings of tea and coffee.
Tea, and coffee making facilities, plus other beverages, are also available in the dining room at no additional cost to guests.
Free Wifi is available throughout Braemar House.
Ample free parking available directly in front of Braemar House.
In the large flourishing garden, there is outside furniture for your relaxation and enjoyment.
